Health insurance benefits vary widely in regard to infertility coverage. Infertility
or fertility testing is often addressed separately from infertility treatments in
health insurance plans. To add to the confusion, general gynecology evaluations
and procedures often overlap those of infertility treatments. To say the least,
the area is confusing. Our front desk staff, our billing department, and our patient
financial advisor can help you understand your specific fertility benefits. Health
insurance coverage is variable and rules and regulations are complex. Our billing
staff will perform a comprehensive health insurance benefit analysis to present this
document to you. This document will review your benefits, co-pays, and out-of-pocket
expenses for infertility testing, infertility treatments, surgeries, and In Vitro
Fertilization.
The State of Illinois is one of several states mandating fertility coverage by
health insurance plans. Although the law covers many people, there are several
legal “loop holes” by which employers do not provide infertility benefits. Please
ask our staff for a copy of this law. Feel free to discuss this law with our billing
staff. Your insurance plan or employer may be legally obligated to cover your
fertility treatments.
Please be aware that the fertility treatments are costly, and health insurance companies
often put dollar value or treatment number limitations on your benefits. Please discuss
your health insurance limitations with our billing staff.
As always, we strive to exceed patient’s expectations. Our billing staff, our front desk staff,
and our patient financial counselor are there to assist you.
Our Mission Statement: “...Exceeding patient expectations...”
