General Preconceptional Issues
Preconceptional Lifestyle
Preconceptional Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco
You are likely aware that alcohol and tobacco use can negatively affect a pregnancy. Alcohol
and drug use should be stopped or minimized prior to becoming pregnant. Over-the-counter
prescription medication should be discussed with your physician prior to becoming pregnant. Please
refer to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and American College of OB/GYN
recommendations regarding these issues. Please feel free to discuss any alcohol, drug,
or tobacco issues with our staff or ask for our preconceptional patient education handbook.
Our Mission Statement: “...Exceeding patient expectations...”
